BEN AND LOU BEARD

Managing Directors 

Ben and Lou are a husband and wife team who own and work in the Captivations’ business. Since November 2008 they have run and managed Captivations. In that time Ben and Lou have managed to grow the business to what it is now. The business has grown based on providing old-fashioned customer service values – make it easy for customers, deliver quality products at good value and make sure the customer gets the order on time.

Ben is the managing director and works closely with our biggest customers – ASICS, Kookaburra, IRONMAN and some key school customers. Ben is continually looking at how products can be improved or reinvented. He works closely with a select group of manufacturing partners to foster supply solutions for Captivations customers.  Lou is chief admin and finance part of the Captivations team.  They are a team in all ways and work hard to make sure customers are well looked after.

Lou and Ben are active members / volunteers of the schools and sports clubs their kids attend. Both are very excited about introducing new products they can offer existing and new customers. They are also passionate about expanding the business in Australia and in North America. Their many years’ experience in the industry ensures Captivations stays at the forefront of custom sportswear in Australia.

MaryJo Wood

Administration Manager

MaryJo ‘MJ’ Wood hails from the US, and grew up watching Michael Jordan play for the Chicago Bulls when they achieved their three-peat. Before coming to Captivations, she studied photography and worked in the promotional industry for three years.

MJ has survived some of the most hectic work environments, and likes to make sure no detail gets left behind. In previous jobs, she’s enjoyed helping customers put their designs onto clothing, bags and other products. Naturally, her industry experience and knowledge fits right in with the Captivations philosophy of providing great service and quality products to our customers.

Outside of work, she likes to go barefoot running, and playing music on piano and viola. While she remains a very keen Chicago Bulls fan, we’ll make her a true Aussie yet – even now she prefers watching a game of rugby over American Football. Next on the list, Aussie Rules!

MJ looks after accounts and administration to make sure all orders are sorted and on the way. She’s excited about being a part of the Captivations team who she loves working with. At Captivations, we’re all passionate about sport and helping clubs, schools, businesses and organisations get their quality custom apparel and products on time.

We welcome MJ to the team.

Sam Woo

Sam looks after our school enquiries as his number one priority but does have a passion for unique graphic design that carries over to netball, cricket and all football codes, as well as custom motorsport apparel.

He’s been in the industry for 25 years and has extensive knowledge of garment fit and pattern making and also fabric construction and performance.

Away from the workplace you’ll find Sam on the water somewhere in his boat chasing that elusive big one – Sam’s a sports fishing tragic and can often be seen casting invisible lures around the office and watching the weekend weather forecast.

Angela Phillips

Teamwear Manager – Corporate, Selected Sports Apparel and Dancewear

Aussies can claim Crowded House and the first country to invent Pavlova, but this All Black supporting Marmite Kiwi knows the truth.

Prior to entering the sublimation/clothing industry five years ago, Angela was in the Airline industry field for 12 years undertaking various positions such as the New Zealand Account Executive for Emirate Airlines, Korean Air and others.

Angela has a keen eye for detail and understanding her clients’ needs in the following areas:

• Corporate custom apparel, Australia wide
• Athletics, Cycling, Darts, Hockey, Rowing and Triathlon custom sportswear
• Netball in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Tasmania.

When Angela is not at Captivations, looking after her clients at Captivations, she can be found horse riding or restoring and cruising around (when she’s going…) in Miss Marmalade, her ‘76 Kombi van, with Reece & the dog.

Amanda Willcox

Amanda Willcox

Sales Support Manager

Amanda comes to Captivations Teamwear with over 12 years within the Sports Industry. She has been an active member of the netball community for over 30 years.

Her role as Sales Support Manager is key to ensuring that all things Sales and Administration that we provide are of the best service.  Amanda prides herself in her attention to detail and customer service.

Amanda works closely with our Corportate Custom Apparel, Australia Wide.

When Amanda is not at Captivations she can be found camping with her family or netball, netball and more netball.
